All the production phases of the driver seats, locomotive driver seats and passenger seats are carefully attended to and controlled by Fisa numerous operators. The main production areas and phases can be summarized in the following steps:
CARPENTRY
The department deals with the working of tubes, profiles and metal plates with 8 presses with pressure from 40 to 200 tons, shears, automated shearing machines, tube benders and pillar drills. The handling is carried out by means of electric lift trucks.
WELDING
The assets of this department are the MAG (Metal Active Gas Welding) welders with 2 CLOOS robotised welding stations, 4 manual stations and a T.I.G. (Tungsten Inner Gas) station.
FOAMING
For the production of backrest and cushion padding, FISA has an automatic P.L.C.-assisted foaming system for accurate proportioning and mixing of the compounds with a consequent reduction in waste and improved evenness of the foam.
UPHOLSTERY
The department deals with the cutting, stitching and manufacturing of the upholstery.
ASSEMBLY AND TESTING
The final department of the production chain is the assembly workshop and quality control of the finished product, which is tested in a dedicated new department equipped with various apparatus, besides DEA instrumentation, and a combustion test laboratory (See picture).
